Phillip and Tracy Barre are the present owners of Le-Gro Barns and moved to the property in January 1998. The Gro farm house is the main farm house where they live with their family, pet cats and dog set in 3 acres of grounds with river frontage.
The Gro was built in 1729 and is a grade II listed Georgian building. Le-Gro Barns are detached and set in their own grounds, guests will not to feel any intrusion but close enough if they need any help or advice.
The Gro was in need of total refurbishment and has been an on going project. Phillip has his own building company Le-Gro services LTD which has done most of the work for the Gro but this came to a stop in 2010 when all hands were put to work on the reconstruction of Le-Gro Barns.
Providing an exceptional holiday accommodation that was also environmentally friendly was very important to us. We are convinced that the peaceful and beautiful surroundings are something which more and more people need in these hectic times, but are well aware that you don’t want to forgo on “mod cons”. A great deal of thought and effort has therefore gone on the high standard that we hope our guests enjoy and appreciate.
We have incorporated modern technology and building techniques such as under floor heating. This has a computer controlled monitoring system to ensure efficient use and comfort. No expense has been spared in the high levels of insulation and air tight construction. The use of latest techniques to improve the thermal efficiency have all been incorporated into the barns at the construction stage making each apartment light warm and comfortable whilst making them environmentally friendly.
Where possible recycled materials have been utilized and natural products used such as slate flooring and roofing, original timber and reclaimed materials. All the lighting is energy efficient and Solar panels heat the hot water supply.
At Le-Gro you will experience eco-friendly holiday accommodation without compromising on luxury.
